Homemade Hummus
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas
- 1/3 of the water from the chickpeas
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Process
- Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
- Blend, and if it’s too thick, add a bit of water
- Top with olive oil and then your choice of paprika, sumac, pumpkin seeds etc
Tip:
Delicious variations: roasted garlic, sundried tomato, curry, roasted beets, or cilantro lime.
You can skin the chickpeas for a smoother blend, but we usually just make hummus with chickpeas straight from the can.
